How to Use

In theory, you should not have to calculate handicaps for Monday Night squash. Simply look up your match and the most recent handicap will be applied.

If you are preplaying a match weeks in advance, the handicaps at the time of play still apply. View the complete draw here.

However, if you are preplaying as a reserve, your head to head match up may not be in the system. In that case here is how you set your handicaps:

• Take the difference between the greater handicap and the lesser handicap
  • Eg. Player A H'cap = 50, Player B H'cap = 63, the differential (Diff) = 13.
• Divide the Diff by 2. We'll call that the Starting Score (SS)
• Give the player with the lesser handicap the a negative SS and the player with the higher handicap a positive SS
  • If the Starting Score is an uneven number, round both numbers down
  • Eg. SS = 13/2 = 6.5  Player A SS = -7, Player B SS = 6
• If the Diff is greater than 18, make the player with the higher handicap SS = 9 and the player with the lesser handicap SS = (9 - diff) (this will be a negative number)
  • In other words, the highest handicap a person can have in this comp = +9
• This is the starting score for each game
